                                                              Dear Discord
                                                              Chapter Eight

It felt weird waking up the next morning. My first morning as a secret immortal, and, technically, princess. Discord had fallen asleep by me, laying ontop of the silky covers next to me. He was snoring loudly above my ear, and had his paw draped limply over my side. His body was curled snugly around mine to add warmth. The extra blanket I had pulled out for him to sleep under, and keep warm by, was only half covering him very loosely. No doubt he had been flailing around again. Indeed, my slightly sore body seemed to prove that he had been even more. I smirked, and rubbed my eyes. Heaven help me if I married him. I realized what I'd thought, and blushed deeply.

Discord's snore faltered suddenly, and he did a sleepy and happy little groan as he stirred by my side. He smiled, and hummed happily, cuddling me closer to him like a doll. I giggled. “Morning, Dizzy,” I whispered. He twitched his nose as my breath touched it, and purred, nuzzling my face with his.     I smiled at him, and let him snuggle as close as he wanted to to me. Finally, he did a wide, long yawn, and blinked open his eyes. He smiled at me, and rubbed his face against mine again, purring louder than before. I smirked. “You're awfully snugly and clingy this morning,” I giggled fondly. He just grinned at me, purring like a kitten.
We were quiet for a little while like that. Then a thought struck me, and my smile became a little smaller, though it didn't leave completely. “Discord? Do you think we should tell our friends what...you know...happened to me?” I asked lightly. Discord blinked, and pulled away to look at me better, still smiling. “Well...if we don't right away, then we at least will within time. But, honestly, I do think we should, yes. I know they wouldn't tell anyone. The only one I'd be worried about is Twilight. She's so close to Celestia... She'd probably not approve of keeping secrets from her mentor,” he said. I nodded in agreement. “Despite the fact Twilight may not like it, I think we should tell them, too. But...well...only as soon as we can think of what exactly to tell them. In a way that won't over-whelm them, you know? I don't want them to treat me any different than they do now,” I said, a bit hesitant. Discord smirked softly. “They won't treat you differently, Goldie,” he hummed. “But you do whatever makes you more comfortable, my dear. In the mean time, I need to teach you how to fly properly,” he said cheerily, hopping out of bed, and stretching with a grunt.

Now, Discord is no RainbowDash when it comes to teaching one how to fly. And, indeed, maybe it would have been better to have told my friends right away, so I could learn flying from her, and magic from Twilight. But I wanted to pick the words I'd use to tell them with as carefully as I could, and take as long as was needed for me to accomplish that.     “Come on, flap!” he encouraged. I panted, and flapped my wings so hard they blurred, but they hardly lifted my back into an arch. I sweated from strain, and stopped, panting yet again. This had been going on for about half an hour already. “Huh. I just don't get what's wrong,” he said, inspecting my wings by pulling them out.
Discord rubbed the end of his chin, and brightened suddenly. “Oh, yeah! How are you flapping them?” he asked. “Um...straight up and down?” Discord shook his head at my reply. “You have to move them in a more circular motion,” he said. I smirked, giving him an amused why-didn't-you-tell-me-that-before?! look. He grinned bashfully. “...Oopsies...?” he chuckled, shrugging awkwardly.     I shook my head in amusement, and began to slowly roll my wings in a circular flap, getting faster the more I got the hang of it. Slowly but surely, I hovered off of the ground. Discord clapped loudly, hopping from foot-to-foot. “Great job! We still have a long way to go, but that's a big step, my dear!” he cheered. I grinned, glowing on the inside from excitement at just being able to lift myself off the ground, as well as earning his approval. Smiling just as big, he plucked me out of the air, and pulled me into a hug.

Over the next few weeks, going into the next month, Discord and I found lots of time to train me on how to fly. Over that time, I got better and better, till I could move forward and backward at a decent speed on my own, as long as it was close to the ground. Just recently though, I had finally mastered getting higher and lower on my own as well. Soon, Discord said I could practice taking off from a cliff, or cloud, and work on how long I could last before I got too tired to fly. And it was tiring! I didn't understand how Rainbow flew almost all the time the way she did. Unless she had incredibly strong wings. And no doubt she did, if she really could do a sonic rainboom.    At the moment, I was with SweetieBell, coming up, yet again, with another song. For multiple reasons. It was a late way to celebrate my becoming immortal to be with Discord, and the Gala was coming up like it always did in the middle of summer. Now that the girls knew how horrible it could be, they had each come up with surprises they could do to make it more fun. PinkiePie had so many ideas, Celestia just invited her to be in charge of the decorations and other such things this time around. She had almost exploded  with excitement! Rainbow would do a sonic rainboom, Twilight would put on a fancy show with her magic, Fluttershy would bring some of her animals to try and soften up the garden ones, that sort of stuff. But either way, this time, Discord and I had been invited. The only reason Discord was willing to go, was because he was allowed to cause whatever kind of trouble he wanted, as long as he didn't go too far.
Anyway, Twilight had told me that, for the Gala, girls always were the ones who asked boys to be their dates, rather than the other way around. (And then she took a very long time explaining why, as well, no doubt having read why in some history book of hers.) So this song was sort of my way of asking him to the dance as my date. SweetieBell went head-over-hooves at the idea of using a song as a way to ask something like that to some pony, and helped me without question in secret from Discord the past two days. The whole song was written, and we were just searching for the perfect sound and feel for it on the piano she had brought out from her CMC club house.

As we sang possible tunes we were pitching out, I couldn't help but feel guilty, again for not telling anyone what Discord and I had gone through. We hadn't even told them we'd tried to get Celestia to do it in the first place only to have her turn us down. Everytime I tried to think of something to say to tell them, my mind became blank. Discord had done the spell to hide my horn and wings with, but, as Luna had said, Discord could still see them. And, funnily enough, I could too. I'm an immortal being, so of course I'd see that I was one, right? Still, it took a while for us to be sure it had worked. I can't tell you how many times I'd be around Twilight, or Rarity, or any of the other girls, see myself in a mirror, and feel racked with guilt that they couldn't see what was really there. And this moment with Sweetie was no exception.
At last, though, she sang a tune that really caught my attention, and distracted me from my guilt with a smile. “That's beautiful, SweetieBell! Honestly, I have no idea how any pony could be this good at coming up with, and singing songs!” I complimented. She beamed up at me. “Thanks, GoldenDream! I've really loved helping you write them and stuff!” she squeaked. I smiled when I heard it. Since she squeaked like that when she was over excited sometimes, I'd fondly call her 'Miss SqueakyBell.' She didn't mind it. Infact, she thought it was pretty funny. “I've had a lot of fun, too, little Squeaker,” I laughed. Honestly, she really had been a large help in getting the songs just the way I wanted them.     “I hope Discord will like it, and say yes to your asking him out!” she said as I packed the song lyrics away. I smiled at her again. “I really hope so, too! But if he does, then it'll only be because of you,” I answered. She blushed, and ducked her head in embarrassment, making me laugh. Then her friends waved her over, and I nodded for her to go to them, leaving as well, as I waved them good-bye.

It's awkward to just go up to someone, and sing to them out of nowhere, without much, if any warning. But Discord made it a bit easier, as he always did. I was outside, finishing up a painting of the night sky above us. I had felt his eyes trained on my black figure since I had taken it out, and when I was signing it, he finally got up, and walked to me.    I could tell he was smirking before I even turned to smile at him. The moon, stars, and occasional fire-fly were the only light we had, but he smiled in approval at my newest painting. “It's beautiful, as always, my dear Goldie,” he said, nuzzling into my cheek. My heart got all fluttery like it normally did, and I nuzzled back into him, blushing, and making him purr. “The space out there fascinates you, doesn't it?” he noted, smiling. I looked up at the bright stars scattered in a blue of many shades, and smiled to myself. “Yes...it's so pretty, and big, and mysterious, and scary,” I breathed quietly. Darkness could make me so afraid, but not the night. There's a very big difference. And I adored the stars. Especially for what they had granted Discord and I. Because of that, I loved them far more than ever before.
Discord smiled down at me, gazing over me for a moment. Then he smirked, and, to my surprise, took my hooves, and danced with me. I had no idea what kind of dance he was doing, so I let him lead me in an almost floppily way at first. But I noticed it got repetitive, and soon caught on to some of the steps. Though he was far too good at making me blush whenever he did this...
He'd circle around me, paw on my waist so I'd turn with him, and lower his head till it was just centimeters away from pressing against mine. Everytime he did that, he took the advantage to look deeper into my eyes then he did during the other parts of his dance till I was totally hypnotized, in a way, by them. At one point, it felt like they were almost going inside me. It felt nice, but weird, too. I forced myself to blink, dazzled, and shook my head to clear it. He chuckled. “You seem to like it when I hypnotize you,” he said lightly, hardly breathing above a whisper. I jolted. “...What?” He just laughed quietly, and kissed the tip of my nose. “Sorry, my dear, but I couldn't help it. Your eyes sort of have the same effect on me, you know,” he teased. I flushed hard, and glanced away from him shyly, making him chuckle again. He hugged me, playful again. “You know I'd never actually hypnotize you, silly filly,” he cooed fondly.

I sat in his lap, leaning into his torso, eyes half shut in the dark night, smiling quietly to myself. Just let it stay like this forever, I thought. Finally I murmured, “I finished a new song today...would you like to hear it?” He smiled, and slowly looked down at me. “You know I'd love to!” Thank goodness it was mostly a quiet song. Nothing to ruin the quiet and peaceful night.

“Heart beats fast. Colors and promises. How to be brave?”
“How can I love when I'm afraid to fall? But watching you stand alone...”
“All of my doubt suddenly falls away somehow.”
                                                       “One. Step. Closer...”

“I have died everyday waiting for you!”
“Darling don't be afraid, I have loved you for A Thousand Years...”*
“I'll love you for a thousand more.”
“And all along, I believed I would find you!”
“Time has brought your heart to me, I have loved you for a thousand years...”
“I'll love you for a thousand more...”

Discord stayed quietly staring ahead, breathing softly as I sang. My most favorite part to write when I'd been writing the words to it had been the chorus. Discord himself had inspired it by something he had said not long after I had become immortal for him. I'd asked him if he had ever once loved Celestia. He had just smiled at me, and simply said, “Maybe at one time I had a crush on her. But it was soon gone... But I know you and I were meant for each other. We always were. And that would have to mean that whether I knew it or not, I was in love with you for a thousand years. And everyday I spent in stone was a day I had died inside, because it was a day without you.” Honestly, no one had ever said anything more romantic to me in my life, and it had pretty much reduced me to happy tears.

When I ended it, I felt Discord's body shaking a little. Worried he might be cold or something, I looked up at his face. He let it droop lower, and when I saw him, I gasped in worry. Tears were streaming down his face in long, glittering drops. His ears pricked when he heard my gasp, and he looked at me. I calmed down significantly when I saw that he was smiling. “I...remember...,” was all he said. I just nodded, and hugged his face close against my heart, pressing my face to his. He sniffled, and clutched me with his hands.     I smiled to myself, letting myself be as rightly amazed as I should be at how much he had changed. Before we had met, he never would've even imagined himself crying into the chest of a mare just because he was so happy, he was near bursting at the seams. And who was I to have been the reason? I, the little country-mare. The small artist trying to make her way in the world. Why was someone like me destined to become a secret immortal princess virtually in hiding all because she fell in love? I still had no idea. But I also didn't care much, either. It had happened. I loved him more than anything, and that was all that really mattered. Even if he had never loved me back, all that mattered was that I was there for him till I could not be there for him any more.
“Discord? Do you...Will you...be my date to the Gala?” I whispered, lightly kissing the top of his head, and gently wiping away some of his tears. He used to apologize for moments like that, but by now he knew he needn't do that with me. I never minded, nor thought him weak for crying like that. Infact, I thought him all the more stronger for moments like these. They were the greatest treasures I held.
He almost scoffed, turning it into a laugh instead. A long, hard laugh at that. He shook his head. “Goldie! My dear mare! You need never have asked, silly! You have no choice but to go with me!” he lightly teased. I blushed violently, and smirked, rolling my eyes. Aaaand the tender moment was gone. I snickered as he whipped his eyes, grinning widely. “...I could still change my mind,” I giggled, playfully glaring at him. He gasped, slapping the back of his claw to his head dramatically, and falling over onto his back. “I am so HURT!” he exclaimed in mock distress. I laughed, and playfully punched his shoulder. “Ow!” he laughed, rubbing it. “Dang, girl! You hit hard!” I laughed again. “You big baby...” I kissed his shoulder to ''make it feel better,'' and then his head, making him blush up at me. Suddenly, he jerked his head up right before I pulled away, and kissed me by my muzzle. “I love you, GoldenDream,” he said quietly. My heart skipped a beat, and I froze in place before I drew back to stare at him, slightly wide-eyed. His red eyes were large, like a puppy's, as they gazed shyly up at me, his now deeper blush much more visible in the dark than before. Don't get me wrong. Those eyes of his like that looked so adorable, I thought I'd melt then and there on the spot. But the word's he'd said with true sincerity rang in my head. And I slowly grinned, blushing lightly. “I love you too, Discord.”

“Discord! NO. Stay. Right. There!” I could hear Rarity ordering, voice rising to a you-better-do-what-I-say-right-now-or-you'll-regret-it pitch. I smirked. She was going through a lot of fuss. She had made every pony new Gala dresses, and insisted on making Discord a new suit. He just wanted to wear one he popped up himself, but Rarity knew what he was like. She practically hog-tied him down to get the thing on him. And now? Now she was just trying to keep him from peeking at me before I came out myself. She was like that. She wanted him to be surprised.
“Dang it, Rare, isn't it bad enough you made me wear this? I should be able to see my own mar- erm...friend,” he stuttered. I could picture his blush, and awkward smile as he tried to cover up the fact he almost said marefriend.*     I giggled at his faint voice, and slipped on the last piece Rarity had for me to put on. He was just playing stubborn. I could tell, as could Rarity, that he actually liked his suit. It was a crazy-quilt style jacket made of velvet of all his colors, a classic red bow-tie, and a velvet, purple top-hat with two golden feathers stuck in among other bits and bobs. She wanted to make it look like a refined 'Mad Hatter' version of formal retire, and she had done marvelous at doing so.

My dress was also velvet crazy-quilt, with colors like blue, cream, gold, and white. But the shades were much more softer, and feminine than any of the same color on Discord's. I also had a light blue, velvet bow-tie of my own, and a little head band that had a mini top-hat. It was the same color as my bow-tie, but unlike Discord's, it had long white swan feathers folded on each side of it like wings, and a blue quill, and black paintbrush crossing each other on the front of it. The band that the hat sat upon had tiny roses along it, all the same colors as the ones on my cutie mark, only more pastel-like shades of them.     But, to me, the ultimate masterpiece Rarity had done, was on the back of my dress. Amid all the crumpled  crushed-velvet, she had arranged some to form the clear shape of a flying dove. It wasn't white, it wasn't made of different fabric, and it wasn't embroidered. It was just imprinted there in such a way that you didn't notice it till you really looked, and saw it. The only other thing she had done to make the dove more easily noticed, was add small, clear gold beads that glimmered whenever the skirt moved. The rest of the skirt had scarce fabric roses of pastel green, lilac, and pink. I loved Rarity's dresses. All of them. They were always beautiful. But this one was truly in my top favorites.

“Rarity, if you don't move in the next two seconds...!” Discord laughed, clearly being playful with her as he loomed over her, and failing to hide a grin with more of a menacing scowl. Rarity only smirked up at him. Both of them looked up the stairs at me when I cleared my throat, smirking at them both. Discord's grin shrunk till he was gaping at me, wide-eyed. I smiled shyly, blushing slightly as he stared me up and down before smiling crookedly again. When I was near the last step, he held out his claw to me, and I placed my hoof in its firm and gentle grip. He pulled me up against him, and smiled down at me. Saw my hat, my tie and dress, the dove... He grinned. “Well done, Rarity...well done.”

Discord snuck the two of us into the crowd milling below the stairs that Celestia stood at the top of to greet guests. I made sure I stayed low enough to keep my horn and wings out of sight to the Princess, heart pounding inside my ears. If she saw me, what would I say? What would she do? Discord and I knew it was risky to come, but we didn't want to seem suspicious of anything to our friends, so what choice did we have but to go?
We passed Luna, and waved to her. She looked stunned we had come, and almost glared at us as if she were questioning our sanity. Excusing herself from who she had been talking to, she rushed over to us. “Pardon me for any sudden loss of trust, but... ARE YOU TWO CRAZY?!” she yelled. Discord and I flinched, and every pony around us stared at us in silence. Luna blushed, cringing to herself. “Sorry, every pony, sorry! Don't mind us...just go back to your party,” she said. They all glanced at each other, a few shrugged, and then they went back about their business.     The Princess sighed, and looked back at us. She nodded in the direction of a balcony, and we followed behind her. Once we were out in the night, she shut the glass door. “What were you two thinking?! If my sister sees you, you're dead meat!” she exclaimed. Discord just smirked, and crossed his arms. “You know, Princess Luna. If I didn't know any better, I'd say you weren't even all that happy to see us,” he chided. Luna looked flustered for a moment. But then she rolled her eyes, and smirked before shaking her head at him. “Would you like to explain why you're here?” she said more quietly, still smirking. “We didn't have much of a choice. If we hadn't, our friends would've started asking questions, and-” “You haven't told them yet?” Luna asked, bemused. I glanced at the ground, old guilt creeping up on me again. “...No.” Luna looked down at me sadly, and shared a concerned glance with Discord. She smiled lightly. “GoldenDream, you shouldn't-” “I'm afraid they'll treat me different,” I cut in, still not able to look up at either of them. Luna's mouth was still open, as if she was trying to think of something to say. She glanced up at Discord for some help, but he just shrugged sadly, and placed his hands comfortingly on my back.

“Hey, come on. We came here to have a good time, and that's what we're going to have!” Discord suddenly said with a happy smile. I smiled a little in-spite of myself. That was just like him. Knowing when I needed to hear something to make me feel better, and when I just needed something that would make me laugh. And if anyone knew how to do that, it was Discord.
He flung open the glass doors like he owned the place, strutting in, towering over every pony, and surveying the place to see what was the most dull, and in need of life. A few snaps of his fingers, talking cacti that only spoke in Spanish and always seemed to be in a bad temper, and other such chaos later, Discord and I were laughing out in the garden as we watched all the havoc going on inside. Discord was, of course, looking his cutest as he laughed far too hard to be heard, clutching his middle, and eyes tearing up. He gasped for breath, back heaving as I giggled at him by his side. It was really funny and cute to watch him laugh that hard. “Wehell, I think we can leave them to take cahare of that pony who refuses to put that particular cactus back for a while!” he laughed, wiping his eyes. I smirked at him, and nodded, letting him walk us away, and farther into the garden.      I smiled up at him as we walked along. “You haven't changed one bit, you know that?” I teased. He laughed, and scurried ahead, weaving himself among the trees quicker than any snake could. “Oh, and it feels great to be back, too!” he cheered, popping up in an entirely different spot, and spreading his arms wide. I grinned, and chased after him. “Oh, no!” he squeaked, ducking back under the foliage, and reappearing somewhere else at random again with a laugh. “You're never gonna catch me! Might as well give up now!” he teased, ducking away just before I landed on him. “And turn down a challenge that could turn out interesting?” I gasped, pretending to be shocked, and making him grin. “Never!” He laughed. “That's what I wanted to hear!” he cheered, diving again, and resurfaced in another tree.
I pounced onto him, smirking, only to have him pop away right before I landed on him. I laughed breathlessly, and whirled around for him, expecting him to pop up somewhere else. But he didn't. Silence came back over the dark garden, and I looked around in confusion. Suddenly, I turned right into a mouth with a long, orange snake tongue, sharp teeth, and one big saber tooth wide open, and roaring loudly. The roar made me shut my eyes, and even blew my mane back a little bit. When he stopped, I blinked, a little surprised, and looked up at his smirking face. “Boo.”     Suddenly, the ground under me started to move up, and over. “What the-woah!” I yelped, tumbling backward. Discord laughed, flying to keep himself in place. I had a harder time at doing something like that, since I was trying just to stop falling. “Come on, Goldie, you can do better than that! Flap! Flap hard!” he snickered, crossing his arms, and following me with his head as I fell past him. “Easy for YOU to say!” Finally, I managed to catch myself, and flutter off of the spinning piece of earth. I blanched at it a little. It was just one big chunk that was spinning, not the entire world, or anything. “Uh...Discord?” I asked, raising a brow questioningly. “~Spirit of Chaos!~” he sang, smirking. “...Right...silly me.”

Celestia stood on the balcony outside of her bedroom, looking out at the gardens, and up at the stars. She was dead tired, just like she always was after the Gala. But at least it had been a lot more lively this time around. When she had seen all the evidence that Discord was there, but didn't see him, she felt both glad he hadn't said hello, and a little sad as well.
It was always like that with her and Discord. He made her feel conflicted all the time. She was glad he was reformed, but at the same time she didn't believe he truly was for a second. She had no faith in him, and hated him so much, but she still loved him. And that was what she hated about her. She still loved him. How could anyone not love him? Even when he had only cared about himself, and played mind games with ponies that might get in his way, he had been so full of life, and fun, and even happiness that if you let it, always crept into your heart. She liked GoldenDream, she honestly did, but she could be a little too trusting at times. Just like Fluttershy. And what did that do? For Celestia, it had done nothing more than leave her with a broken heart everytime.     And what was she to Discord? Had she, like Celestia, loved him despite herself, for as long as she had? Had she had to stone him, see him again after a thousand years of heartache, and then send her own daughter-like student and her friends through horrible things to go and do the job over again for her without giving any indication of how she felt about him? No. She had just appeared, and won his attentions over on a whim. This, the small artist mare from a part of the country so small, hardly any still lived there anymore. Of course he'd be playing her like he had Celestia. Why would he fall in love with one like her in less than a year if he wasn't? It was ridiculous. It was all a lie.

Snorting softly to herself, she looked down at a dimly lantern lit gazebo, and was surprised to see two figures on its roof. One was a smartly dressed Discord, looking at the sky, and pointing at the Orion constellation. And the other... she could tell it was GoldenDream,Watching with an icy glare, she saw, after a moment, GoldenDream lean her head onto Discord's shoulder. Her dull-golden curls fell over his side, and he looked down at her with a small smile before resting his own head onto hers, avoiding her horn. Her horn. Her eyes narrowed, and the gaped angrily at the two new attachments upon her head and back.
Spreading her wings, she silently glided down to the ground, and quietly walked up to them. They were silent, watching Luna's stars shine, and her moon glow. A few yards away, some pony was playing a harp and violin to a lovely song as the guests began to take their leave in hundreds of fancy carriages.

“And what, may I ask,” she said sharply, making them both flinch, and spin around to her. GoldenDream paled, and Discord honestly looked just as nervous. “Is GoldenDream doing like that?” she spat. She glared at them, and the two of them glanced nervously at each other as they tried to search for something to say. Every moment only made Celestia's temper hotter.     Finally, Discord spoke up. “It was me, Celestia! You see, I have a habit of snapping on partially fake horns and wings on ponies to mess with them...this being the Gala, I just decided to decorate her in them,” he said stiffly. “Isn't that right, Goldie?” GoldenDream looked frightfully up at him, letting herself relax slightly as she nodded hastily.
Celestia raised a brow, clearly not buying it for a second. But before she could say anything other than her icy silence, Discord rose up, GoldenDream following suite, and cleared his throat. “Well, Princess, if that is all...thank you for inviting us to the party. It was a pleasure.” He bowed to her just as he had done when he promised to start using his magic for good...most of the time. Only this time it felt slightly as if he were mocking her as he did. With that, he took his date's hoof, and sped away through the air with her, landing by their friends in the chattering, loud, happy crowd that still had a few dancers dancing to the piano music still going on inside the ballroom. Discord grinned, and pulled GoldenDream into the dancers, spinning the two of them about in the center of them. Most of the guests around them cheered, and clapped in time to the piano. The two partners and their friends that watched and clapped themselves, laughed. The whole merry scene made Celestia sick.

The white Princess paced in her room, nearly gray rather than white in the low light. Surely Discord had been lying about what she had seen on GoldenDream. After all, they looked so panicked when they saw her, and she really doubted it was just from what had happened last time she and Discord were breathing the same air. Finally realizing that last part made up the mare's mind.
Luna was just turning a corner in the hall down from her sister's bedroom when she heard her shout for a guard. “Have a group of you go to GoldenDream's house on the edge of Ponyville. Now. By the time you get there, she and Discord are sure to be asleep. One of your unicorns must put a sleeping spell on her and Discord, and then bring them back to me. Do not harm them, or anything inside their house. If they are not there, search for them as thoroughly as you can without making any kind of mess. This is to be as orderly as possible, and no one is to know where you are going, or what you are doing. If you are stopped, simply say you are under my orders. You will not answer questions. You will not ask questions. And you will leave immediately,” she ordered, voice expressionless. The last thing Luna heard before teleporting herself as quietly as she could was the guard saluting Celestia with a, “Yes, Princess!”
Edited it now. So it's a bunch better. >w>
